Nepeta cataria

Zones 3-7. Catnip grows from 15-24 inches high and produces small white spikes of flowers summer to fall.  Plant in full sun, partial shade or shade.

As popular with people as with cats.  While cats appear to be stimulated by the herb, in humans it is very calming.  It is traditionally used as an anodyne, antispasmodic, aromatic, carminative, diaphoretic and sedative, particularly in the case of colds, fever, stress and indigestion.
